Bill was born and raised in Gonzales County. Early on, He was known for his keen business sense and a will to make things happen. He joined the Army in 1955, returning to the Houston area where he owned and operated a landscaping company.
Bill and his family moved to Hunt in the early 1960’s where, in 1964, he founded what is now known as Vlasek Pump Company LLC. He was on the forefront of the water industry as a master pump installer and well driller. He held master licensing in septic installation and was the owner of many public water systems.
Bill was a true entrepreneur. When asked how he came into this field his response was that after running his landscaping company he saw a need in the water well industry and knew it was a commodity and that was the way he could make his legacy and be the most needed in this community.
